Welcome to the website of the 8th European Athletics Under 23 Championships which will take place in Ostrava on 14 - 17 July 2011. The European Athletics Under 23 Championships is extremely important for the development of athletics in Europe. The event provides a bridge between junior and senior competition and offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring Olympic, World and European champions to compete against the best athletes in their own age group. Bernadette Brun Brenger visited Ostrava
The member of the European Athletic Association board of executives Bernadette Brun Brenger visited Ostrava, the organising city of the European Championship under 23 in 2011.
‘We visited the accommodation sites for the participants of the championship, saw all the boarding facilities but we also presented possible venues we’ve chosen for the ceremonies and dinner parties taking place during the European championship. Great emphasis is put on the official European Athletic Association dinner which willbe held in the Mining Museum of Landek, which proved to be the perfect place for such an important occasion already during the World Youth Championship under 17 years’, explains Sarka Mokra, the main coordinator and LOC member.
Timetable for 2011 EA U23 Championships approved
The timetable for the 8th European Athletics U23 Championships to be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, through 16 -19 July 2011 has been approved.
Brand new scoreboard for the Championship
It is going to be already this year when the brand new scoreboard is installed into the City Stadium of Vitkovice. It will also be used during the European Championship under 23 years in 2011.
